Each pupil receives card with symbols. 2.Pupils find the friends that have the same symbol to form a group. 3.Pupils name their own groups. 4.Pupils send a representative to the front to draw a stanza of the poem. 5.In groups, pupils discuss and do their own actions for that particular stanza. 6.Pupils practise on reciting that stanza with their own actions. 7.Pupils perform their actions and recite the poem group by group. Activity 2: 1. In groups, pupils discuss to replace the first line of every stanza with another action. (Example: stomp your feet, tap your head, snap your fingers) 2. Pupils do the actions while reciting the new poem created. * For below average pupils, pupils select a stanza and replace the first line of that selected stanza.

Materials: Poem "At the playground" 1. Pupils are shown the poem "At the playground". 2. Pupils listen to the teacher to recite the poem. 3. Referring to the poem shown, in groups, pupils recite the poem. Pupils clap their hands when they see the stress mark. *Suggestions: 1.Clap hands can be replaced by stomp, interchange of lap clapping and hand clapping. 2. Allow pupils to decide on the actions. Activity 2: Materials: Poem "At the playground" 1. Pupils are shown the poem "At the playground". 2. Pupils listen to the teacher to recite the poem. 3. In groups, pupils discuss and practice on the actions based on the lines in the poem. 4. Pupils' performance Activity 3: Materials: envelope, sentence strips, manila card (Sample) 1.In groups, each group is given an envelope that contains sentence strips. 2. Pupils categorise the statements on the sentence strips in the DOs and DON’Ts in the playground. 3. Pupils share their answers with the class. Song: Walking in the jungle
